I do that too! And worse, I stick leaves in translucent condiment cups to start, so I pick them up to see if I can see roots on the bottom, because I know those will show up before the baby leaves....

The cure for this is to have many, many more leaves rooting - so many that you couldn't possibly check them all daily. If that doesn't cure watchingitis, add hundreds more mature plants to take care...
